Special moments from one of the holiest places in the world, the town of Liska, where the deep and blessing-filled prayers recited at the grave of the great tzadik, Rebbe Hershele Lisker zt"l (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער זצ״ל), resonate.

This prayer seeks healing for the ill, prosperity for the less fortunate, and peace and well-being for the people of Israel and all humankind. Liska holds a distinctive place in Jewish history, as it is here that the Liska Rebbe built a renowned synagogue, recognized as one of the largest in Europe during its era. The memory of the town and its tzadik remains alive and vibrant in Jewish communities, as countless individuals come to request blessings following the Kivrei Tzadikim customs.

Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער), also known as Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן) and the esteemed author of Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה), was one of the prominent Hasidic leaders whose teachings still resonate with his followers today. The Rebbe studied under the famous Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), also referred to as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה), from whom he learned valuable Torah knowledge and Hasidic wisdom. The enduring disciple relationship is vibrant in Hasidic communities, notably among Satmar adherents, who pay tribute to the memories of Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.

Hasidic communities around the world, whether in Borough Park, Williamsburg, or any part of Israel, hold the town of Liska and the merit of the Liska Rebbe in the highest regard. The Liska cemetery is regarded as one of the most vital Kivrei Tzadikim sites, where the tzadik's merit enhances the power of the prayers offered there. The yahrzeit (יארצייט) of the Rebbe's passing draws thousands to this location each year, where they come to pray and ask for blessings for their families and communities.

The teachings of the Liska Rebbe, preserved in works like Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה) and Hayoshor veHatov (הישר והטוב), continue to inspire and lead Jewish communities across the globe. Liska is a sacred land that embodies past miracles and blessings while continuing to serve as a site where prayers, steeped in deep faith, resonate and bestow blessings on all visitors.
